Meet Dhammika, your host

Dhammika runs this small homestay with his family. Before he started welcoming guests, he was a soldier in the Sri Lankan army.

He looks after every guest himself. He plans your days, books your safari and finds you a driver, and he makes sure you always pay a fair price. With only four rooms, he has time for everyone.

Small things guests remember

A guest arrived tired after a bad night at another place. Dhammika let him check in early so he could sleep before lunch. He left calling it an incredible stay.
A French family with two teenagers asked Dhammika to plan their days around Sigiriya. The mother wrote that he is someone you can trust completely.
A Dutch guest mentioned it was her birthday. Dhammika surprised her with balloons.

Close to the rock, on a quiet road

We are in Kayanwala, on a quiet road just off the main street, near Sigiriya Tank. Cafes and restaurants are a few minutes' walk away, and the area is calm at night.

How far is Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala Rock, and how do we get there?

We are close to Sigiriya Rock, which makes the homestay a good base for the climb. Pidurangala Rock is about 3.6 km away. Dhammika can book a tuk-tuk transfer to either rock, or you can hire a bicycle from us.

Can you arrange a jeep safari? Which park is best this month?

Yes. Dhammika books jeep safaris to Minneriya, Kaudulla and Hurulu Eco Park. Send him your dates and he will tell you which park he recommends for that time.

Can you pick us up from the airport or Dambulla bus stand? How much is it?

Yes. We can pick you up from the airport, a station or anywhere in Sri Lanka, and drop you off when you leave. Message us where and when, and we will send you the price.

What is for breakfast? Can we have dinner at the homestay?

A traditional Sri Lankan breakfast is included with every stay. We can also cook a home-made lunch or dinner for you. Just ask in advance.

Which rooms have AC? Is there hot water and a mosquito net?

The Family Room, the Deluxe Room with Balcony and the Deluxe Room all have AC. The Double Room has a fan. Every room has a private bathroom with a hot shower and a mosquito net.

Do you have a room for a family?

Yes, our Family Room has AC and is made for families. Message us with the number of adults and children, and we will get it ready.

Can we check in early or leave our luggage?

Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. You can check in early when the room is free, so tell Dhammika your arrival time.

Can we rent bicycles or a tuk-tuk?

Yes. We have bicycles for hire, and Dhammika can book tuk-tuk transfers to Sigiriya Rock, Pidurangala Rock and Dambulla.

Yes. We are on a quiet road just off the main street, so it is calm at night, but cafes and restaurants are still only a few minutes’ walk away.
