Top Grossing Movies of all time – Endgame Passed Avatar

Over the weekend, it became official. Now Avengers Endgame is now the most top grossing movies of all time at the global box office. After a successful debut in 2009, followed by several releases in the following year, Avatar had an apparently unbeatable record. James Cameron’s movie ended with $ 2,789,700,000, surpassing Cameron’s original movie, Titanic. Now that Endgame has eliminated the champion, Cameron has taken advantage of the social media’s congratulations.

Monday morning, Cameron, the director of Avatar franchise posted a message on the social media accounts.

“Oel Ngati Kamele, I see you Marvel,” begins the message. “Congratulations to Avengers: Endgame is the new box office king – Jim Cameron”

The message printed on an image merging the two franchises which Iron Man can be seen on the picture surrounded by the woods of Pandora, just like in the popular scene of Avatar.

If you did not know, “Oel ngatie kamele” is a popular expression in the native language of the Na’vi people. It is the main race described in Avatar also. It just means “I see you” and Cameron uses it to highlight the success of his competition.

Among the most profitable and top grossing movies of all time

James Cameron & Russo Brothers

At the moment, Endgame is the most profitable film of all time. But Cameron has made the second and third films on the list: Avatar and Titanic. Five of the ten most profitable films come from the Marvel film universe, with Avengers: Infinity War, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther after Endgame.

The only three films in the world’s top 10 that are not part of the MCU and that were not made by Cameron are Star Wars: The Force Awakens (still holding the national record of all time), Jurassic World and Furious 7 .
It’s hard to say how long the Endgame record could hold. Cameron does not hope too long, because he has the first Avatar suite on the way. There’s also a small chance that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be competitive in December, as it’s the latest movie from the Skywalker saga.
